Tried this place out last night since I was in the Bay Area and it was alright. Really the only place locally if you live in the East Bay. The floors appear to be wood but it’s not a dance floor (or at least it isn’t maintained like one i.e. I wouldn’t bring your nice shoes, mine got messed up).
The crowd is mostly beginners (even the “intermediates”), but especially later into the night, there WERE a good handful (like 5) of experienced dancers, including Beto and Lani. Only a few On2.
Live bad was cool, but one thing they don’t mention is that it’s $15 regardless of what time you arrive if it’s live band night. Also, get this: you get charged $1 for every glass of water and $3 for bottled. Lame.
Crowd is definitely older. I’m 21 and was definitely the youngest there. Otherwise, it was overall a good night, and I’ll probably go back, but I think it would be worth checking out Allegros or Cocomos if you’re more advanced. Great for beginners.
