This is a really fun event, and one of the top dance spots on a Sunday night in the City. Hot Bachata Nights takes place at the spacious HUE Nightclub which has 2 bars and a nice lounge area on the 2nd floor.

One of the coolest things about the place is that it has 2 dance floors, 1 for salsa and 1 for bachata, so you can switch it up to suit your mood. They also have lessons earlier in the evening if you want to learn the steps.

The downside of HBN is that it definitely attracts more bachata dancers than salseros-- the bachata room is always packed compared to the salsa room. But if you love dancing lots of bachata with a helping of salsa & kizomba on the side, then Hot Bachata Nights is one of the best places to be.

Never miss another salsa event!

Soooo, went here for the first time last night…

– if you go before the party begins, cover is 20… As they presume you are there for class too. Lady at the door let us in for 10 at about 8:39pm as we weren’t going to take a class.
– Classes, kizomba on the main floor. Teacher seems kind, average kizomba dancer. Upstairs is some sort of salsa, teacher was condescending, with the “me you will never dance like me attitude”.
– Dancing, the bachata definitely kicked things up a notch. Great salsa music. DJ kept it fresh.
– Crowd: very clicky, if you didn’t know anyone, you stood alone. The egotistical Salsa instructor thought it was ok to keep bumping into us as we stood at a corner of the bar. When we informed him he was bumping into us, he ignored us, and continued twirling girls into our faces, no apologies, none.

Will I return? HEEEELLLLLL NO! I will go to Cigar bar down the street any day. Better attitude, cooler people, sweet ambiance, and there is a chance I may actually make some friends…

Super Disappointed!!

This is the main Sunday night party in SF and people keep on coming back so you know it must be decent! Nice venue with two bars, a big bachata room, a smaller salsa one, and and intimate kizomba room. Since I like to dance salsa and kizomba, I regularly attend this event.
This is definitely the place to go the bachateros/as out there. The salsa level is intermediate with a couple of more advanced dancers showing up regularly. I like the fact that the three dance styles are in one place so salseros, bachateros and kizombeiros can mix. I think it is always good to be open minded and versatile enough to not stick with one style of dance.
Dancers are pretty “Bay Area” like. Not mean, not extra friendly/smiley either, somewhere in the middle. You might feel a little lonely if you are a newcomer but keep on dancing and people will open up.

This used to be a great place to dance on a Sunday evening and now the salsa floor is pretty much empty. Last time I went there they were patting down patrons TSA style before you get the privilege to get in the door, which is very disrespectful to the customers. I will not be going back to this venue in the future and would not recommend this venue to any of my fellow salsa/Bachata dancers.

Cliff,
We appreciate the feedback and definitely notice the difference with the salsa room. As with any venue there are good salsa nights and not so good ones. This is largely why we alternate the room with kizomba as the nights we have kizomba SF Mambo is taking place. Most of our customers prefer Bachata though.

It has been some time since security had patted down people, but it was not to be disrespectful it was to ensure that people were not sneaking alcohol or other things as they do at most nightclubs. While it may not be the norm of most salsa/latin dance night clubs we are trying to provide a safe environment for people to dance and have fun.

Cheers.

If you’re looking to dance and have a good time on Sunday night, this is definitely the place!

Cover: $10 for social and $20 for lessons and social. This is incredibly affordable compared to the cover for all other places in San Francisco. Not to mention the $20 includes two different lessons which is a total steal.

Venue: Absolutely gorgeous, probably the best spacial and atmosphere out of all Latin dance events in the city hands down.

Crowd: There is always a mix of different dancers wherever you go, but this crowd is very polite and I actually feel safe as a single female dancing. I’ve encountered very few really stuck up dancers that quite frankly sound like “concerned patron” in another review from here. Though most people are not like that, so don’t worry :)

Instructors/Lessons: Ideal for beginners to intermediate level. I love the rotation between Bachata, Salsa and Kizomba.

Special events: I attended the DJ Soltrix event and I have got to say, that event was absolutely insane! The organizer here has really changed HBN and the environment is like no other latin night in the city with these specialized events. I mean common, Sunday night is clearly not easy to do since a lot of people work on Monday, but damn it’s a blast! Don’t even get me started on the 3day weekends throughout the year :)

My favorite spot to go on Sunday nights! This is a great place to go if you love bachata & kizomba. Great instructors and good dancers in a friendly atmosphere. Salsa dancing is a bit hit or miss, not always a lot of good dancers. Great place overall!

I have found the world of bachata! The level is dancing is so good at this place! The venue is clean, comfortable, and spacious. I am a salsa dancer starting to learn bachata. This is the place! Last night was my first night and I stayed with 2 friends till 2 am. Even though the community is different than whom I know from salsa, I found everyone welcoming and generous with their dances. I danced all night! Thank you M&M for taking there. A highlight was to see Francisco Jr and Cathy Reyes perform. And then I danced “loco” with Jr. “…te pido de rodillas…” -show stop pero!
