The Saturday Salsa parties at Allegro Ballroom are the largest Salas Socials in the Bay Area. They attract over 400 dancers of all levels and there is always a LIVE BAND, FREE food and drinks and 1 or 2 lessons. Dancers from San Francisco, the South Bay, North Bay and East Bay, as well as Sacramento and Santa Rosa consistently show up and there is a very large dance floor, excellent sound system, excellent DJs and a fun and friendly crowd. I find this to be the best Salsa Club in the Bay Area. With a lesson, Live Band, free food and drinks, a stellar, extremely large dance floor, and a very friendly (no snob zone) crowd, The Beginning/Intermediate lesson from 8-9 with Tomaj & Shahla is taught with excellent instruction and is packed, with 150 people attending – so it’s a great time to meet people and socialize. The Live Bands start right after 9pm… There is a good selection of food, sangria, wine and other treats to enjoy in between dances, all complimentary. The DJ is very good, too. A lot of experienced dancers show up around 10pm and stay until closing (1am). Highly recommended. I only wish they would do it more than once a month…This is a fantastic venue and party!
